I want to say thank you ... for all the support and guidance. I have learnt to manage life problems better than I used to. Counselling has helped me realise that I am someone I actually like. I have also managed to accept and realise that I have a strong relationship with my mother and that I am on my way to improving it. Counselling has made me a more confident person. Thank you so much.

I do not want to die any more. I know what to do when I feel suicidal. I want to go out more. I do not feel all the time that people are against me and I know that things are not always as bad as I imagine. I eat better now and I look after myself better

My husband and I left to go back with tears in our eyes. These were tears of happiness as we felt that our hope for a good future as a family has been renewed. Thank you ... for all the dedication and compassion that you communicated to us.

I felt that my counsellor really listened to me and I know that she will miss me and I will miss her too. My counsellor is very kind to me and makes me feel at home whenever I visit. I think the only thing that needs improving is that you should be allowed to hug your counsellor.

I was working with difficult and complex issues that I have held inside me for the majority of my life.

The whole process was presented so clearly and compassionately that I found it so much easier than I had expected, to engage and allow whatever needed to emerge and come into the light to do so.

I am actually fairly astounded at how whilst it could have been a distressing and emotional process - the way I was supported in taking responsibility for and making my own investigations has meant that I have actually made a great deal of progress in a fairly short period of time and have felt that my narrative was coherent and made sense. This was quite a surprise, because during previous attempts over the years to have therapy I became very distressed on repeated occasions and felt that I made no progress or sense, even to myself!

In many ways I had given up on ever being able to find a way through.

I think that having access to a listening ear in the one-to-one sessions at intervals throughout the Intensive was also really helpful. It was an opportunity to consolidate what was emerging for me and check in with an external view.
